Whitney Chng, our 2011 Asst. Band Major shares this, “My experience with the band was fun and enjoyable. Having to play the saxophone gave me a chance to learn more about the instrument and more about music. I was once a very shy girl. However, after being chosen to be Assistant Band Major, I grew more confident. I was better able to help my juniors when they have problems. I was also more comfortable in speaking up and striking conversations with others. I would like to thank the band teachers for their guidance and advice. Without them, I wouldn’t have passed the DSA interview. In fact, my experience at PPS concert band gave me the confidence to go for my first interview! I wasn’t nervous at all and the Xinmin Secondary School Vice Principal and Band Instructor also remarked that I play well. I encourage more to join our family. They will not regret it. ”
